Here in Kapiti , sunny OTAKI , NZ , I have had earlytazettas slowly coming to life as we move into autumn . It is very dry here , we are waiting for a good Norwester Front to bring us some good warm rain from Australia or the tropics .
I have a good range of paperwhites , – all originating from seed , sent to John Hunter from Bill Welch , – many years back .Selections have been made by John H , Diane Irwin and myself .All are very white , very early and the selections all have good stem length , – thus with cut flower market potential .
Also in the mix , – just a little later , are the Max Hamilton raised tazettas , TAHI , – RUA , – and TORU , – again from seed Bill sent to NZ .
A John Hunter selection , – easily the roundest of the group .
Good stem length on all the selections .
A lot of buds on the paperwhites .
The TAHI group are a little late , Tahi is almost peaking , the other two are just beginning .
Also a range of florists foliage and extras , — MAGNOLIA GRANDIFLORA , – Proteas and elegant GREVILLEAS .
A lot more to come , – a good rain would be welcome .
