Greenwich Daffodil Show held on April 24/25, 2024

I had posted this once and it is no longer on the daffnet.  I hope it was not pulled for some unknown reason.

Not sure what happened to it, but here we go again.  It was a larger show than I expected with three Quinn entries and six Bozievich entries.  We had a lot of fun.

Gold Ribbon was Camilla Clara Kate 3W-GYR exhibited by Gretchen Riley

The White Ribbon vase of three stems was Camilla Clara Kate 3W-GYR exhibited by Gretchen Riley

 

The silver ribbon for the most blue ribbons in the show was won by Sally Polak.  Number of blue ribbons unknown.

The Rose Ribbon for the best standard seedling was 905 6W-Y exhibited by Libby Welch.

 

The best three stems intermediate daffodils was Pink China 2W-P exhibited by Sally Polak.

 

The best intermediate daffodil was Little Alice 4Y-O exhibited by Gaby Hall.

The historic collection of 5 stems was exhibited by Dianne Bowditch.

Purple Ribbon for the best collection of five stems in the show was exhibited by Christopher Harley.

The Throckmorton Ribbon for the best 15 stems in the show with different color codes of each stem was exhibited by Sally Polak.

 

The Quinn ribbon was exhibited by Gretchen Riley.

 

The Bozievich Award for 12 stems and at least 4 separate divisions was exhibited by Dianne Bowditch

 

The Red White Blue collection of fire stems of American Origin  was exhibited by Clay and Fran Higgins

The miniature White Ribbon for the best vase of three miniatures in the show was Golden Bells 10Y-Y exhibited by Grania Allport.

 

The Lavender ribbon for the best collection of 5 miniatures in the show was exhibited by Dianne Bowditch.

  1. I stated previously that the Greenwich, CT daffodil show was larger than expected.  To confirm this, I have learned from an excellent reliable source that the show had over 1400 stems and 67 exhibitors.  Not bad for a small show.
